- Four (4) to five (5) years’ relevant experience in Geomatics or GIS

environment.

Key Performance Areas
- Support GIS departments with corporate spatial data using various

methods and ensure standards are adhered to.
- Assist with the storage/administration and dissemination of

corporate spatial data according to the Spatial Data Infrastructure

Act.
- Ensure availability of quality up to date base data for various

departments requiring spatial data for planning and operational

purposes.
- Process data and update GIS databases, metadata and layers

using GIS software in accordance to policy and procedures.
- Consult on corporate spatial datasets/databases by assessing work

and providing information and advice to other City departments on
- Respond to internal and external requests, and provide up to date

maps, electronic data, and GIS support to meet the information

needs of departments.
- Assist with GIS projects in order to ensure relevant spatial information

is available for improved service delivery.
