**Purpose of the Job**:
**Job Objectives**:
**Operational**
- Ensure all despatching of goods are on time, accurate and in full - in line with standard operating procedures.
- Drive the on-time delivery of parcels through despatch by communicating effectively to other departments in the production team.
- Security of the despatch area is upheld and gates are managed with airlock procedure.
- Parcels are thoroughly checked against the relevant tripsheet.
- Work overtime as and when needed.
- Oversee all despatch functions and ensure all parcels comply with despatch, consolidation and handover procedures.
- Oversee process flow and initiate change control to drive efficiencies where necessary.
- Co-ordinate daily with our third-party courier for any additional operational requirements.
- Ensure a safe working environment and report any incidents to the relevant health and safety officer.
- Guarantee that service level, quality of the process and customer service expectations are met in line with targets.
- Analyse and implement containment actions / new processes on customer service delivery issues to prevent re-occurrence.
- Ensure all parcels handed over during collections are accurate, in line with the collection verification process and documentation are stored in an easy to retrieve manner.

**Administrative**
- All documents are filled out correctly as per standard operating procedure.
- All completed documentation is handed over efficiently to both the drivers and third-party couriers.
- Oversee that despatch housekeeping practices are maintained.

**Staffing**
- Responsible for motivating staff, monitor, control, and report upon the KPIs of the Despatch area.
- Co-ordinate capacity shifting to alleviate pressures as a result of absenteeism.

**Qualifications**:

- Matric qualification

**Experience**:
**Essential**
- 2+ years of relevant team leader or leadership role experience.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Good understanding of despatch processes.
- Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Computer literate
- MS Office 365
- Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
- Knowledge of warehouse sytems such as Pos-i-Till.
- Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
- Strong ability to multitask, resolve complex problems and perform consistently under pressure and work without supervision.
