**Minimum Requirements**
- Grade 12 + a formal qualification will be an advantage
- 7-10 years’ sales management experience in the steel service centre environment
- CAD experience essential
- SigmaNest experience advantageous
- Self-motivated, driven and results-oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

**Key Performance Areas**
- Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivating, counselling, ensuring skills developing, and ensuring product knowledge development.
- Monitoring of the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communication involving the sales team including cyclical sales meetings.
- Responsible for managing the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the company’s presence throughout the market.
- Assist in developing an annual marketing plan; advising on realistic targets for each department within the company, namely Laser Cutting, Flame Cutting and Trading (based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy and sales effort).
- Initiate branding exercises for better positioning in the market.
- Compile and manage a marketing strategy for all products inclusive of exploiting new markets
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activities.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
- Manage customer complaints
- Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems as far as possible, and advising senior management on maximising business relationships.
- Training and develop on internal sales staff to meet business needs.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closing ratios, follow-up, upcoming projects and short-term objectives.
- Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities, performance standards and individual target for each member of the sales team.
- Maintenance of customer discount matrix sectors.
- Manage sales related non-conformances
- Provide input on market related pricing throughout all product categories and department sectors.
- Participate in financial planning process and contribute to long term profitability of business.
- Manage budgets.
- Produce a weekly Sales Report for Management Meetings.
- Produce a monthly Sales Overview Report.
