**KEY PURPOSE OF JOB**

The purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate measurement, interpretation, and resolution of imbalances in rotational objects, using lathe and CNC machinery. This includes troubleshooting issues, maintaining critical spare parts, and ensuring effective communication with team leads. The role also focuses on quality control, inspecting parts during production, and adhering to safety protocols. The individual will use data to program CNC machines, maintain documentation, and validate the balancing process for rotational components.

**KEY TASKS**
- Measure and interpret data for rotational objects
- Troubleshoot, request support, and resolve issues as they arise
- Identify imbalances in rotational objects and address them effectively
- Operate and maintain lathe and CNC machinery
- Identify, and ensure critical spare parts are always available for all equipment
- Ensure effective and regular communication with team leads for updates on this critical process
- Adapt to differences between wheels by recognizing and resolving specific issues
- Ensure safety, product quality, and the proper use of drill bits while operating CNC machines
- Use interpreted data to program CNC machines for precise actions
- Quality Control: Inspect parts and products during and after production to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine-related issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, maintenance logs, and inspection results
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, report any safety hazards or incidents immediately
- Validate the balancing process by signing off successfully balanced wheels, Engineering will assist if there are any irregularities
- Assist production assemblers with tasks during periods of downtime or when balancing machine operations are not required
- Rotate between assembly tasks and balancing tasks when required

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**

**Qualification**
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Relevant course in milling or lathe machine operating would be beneficial

**Experience & Knowledge**:

- Proven experience operating balancing machines and CNC equipment would be beneficial
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve machine-related issues
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication
- Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation standards
- Ability to adapt to varying equipment and product requirements
