**Role Purpose**
Manage the overall delivery of migration programmes from initiation to close-out, to meet business objectives in compliance with all relevant governance, risk and audit requirements.
**Requirements**:
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree(Essential)
- Relevant Master's Degree(Desirable)
- Relevant Project Management Certification such as Prince II or SAFE(Desirable)
- Relevant Project Management registration(Desirable)
- Knowledge of relevant Project Management software and tools
- Knowledge of the Project Management lifecycle, from conception to close-out
- Knowledge of agile methodology
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of stage gate and waterfall programme-level planning
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
- Good knowledge of programme and project management methods including PRINCE2
- Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
- Good knowledge of the Health industry and specifically the medical aid administration industry.
- Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme.
- The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Investigate the feasibility of programmes that support the achievement of business
- Contribute to the development of relevant programme business cases for approval in line with business requirements.
- Planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action progress ensuring that milestones are being met across the various projects and programmes.
- Defining the programme's governance arrangements
- Facilitate the definition of programme scope, produce and manage programme schedules, including identifying and managing cross-project dependencies in scope, schedule, capacity, budget and risks.
- Ensure the associated project scope is correctly defined in collaboration with project manager, PMO, team and stakeholders, to ensure project deliverables and expectations are clearly articulated and aligned to business objectives.
- Ensure that the programme and each project stakeholders have been identified and included in appropriate decision-making forums and project forums.
- Ensure the associated project objectives and measures of success are set which will be used to evaluate project effectiveness.
- Collaborate with line managers to ensure the team is properly staffed with the right capacity and competencies to deliver the programme.
- Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate, technical and specialist standards
- Facilitating the appointment of individuals to project teams
- Ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme's individual projects.
- Ensure decisions in the programme are made with the appropriate stakeholder and that consideration has been given to all the possible impacts an inter-dependencies.
- Managing third party contributions to the programme
- Managing communications with all stakeholders
- Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
- Managing risks to the programme's successful outcome
- Working with the business change manager or equivalent on the transition to the new business as usual position
- Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues arise.
- Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the Business owner, Steerco and Health Exco
- Act as first point of escalation from projects to facilitate risk and issue
- Ensure the flag is raised immediately with the BO, Project Steerco and Health Exco if the critical path of the project is at risk, milestones are not being met or programme/project deliverables are not met.
