Programme Manager: Staff Volunteerism: Sanlam

Who are we?

The Group Office provides strategic direction and support to the four clusters, assisting them in realising their strategies and meeting their business objectives. The Group Office is responsible for governance and for the Group's centralised functions, which include: Finance, Actuarial and Risk Management, Strategy, Human Resources, Market Development and Brand Services.
What will you do?
The Staff Volunteerism Programme (SVP) is a Sanlam Group wide programme that seeks to facilitate opportunities for Sanlam staff members to contribute to the development of the communities in which Sanlam operates. The role is based within the Sanlam Foundation.

The role of the SVP Manager is to manage and oversee the successful implementation of the SVP strategy and resources to ensure the organisation’s objectives and goals are met. The role entails coordinating volunteerism initiatives across different business units, ensuring coordination of efforts, resources, and monitoring and reporting thereof. The SVP manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the SVP. They will spend most of their time tracking the progress of the SVP, monitoring its impact, and planning, analysing, and making decisions in line with the Foundation’s strategy.

The manager will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of data from the respective business units, work closely with staff who volunteer, to create a schedule that works for everyone and ensures the right number of staff is always available to actively participate in projects. Assess the budget for each programme and ensure adequate resources available always. Manage related risks associated with SVP programme and ensure activities are implemented within relevant regulatory framework. What will make you successful in this role?
Manage the delivery of milestones and outputs of the Staff Volunteerism Programmes and projects, within scope, time and budget.
Control and manage programme and project compliance requirements and provideg a quality assurance function.
Manage all assigned programme and project finances, including payments.
Manage and control programme and project risk register.
Manage programme and project governance processes.
Familiarity with applicable legislation and technical aspects of Sanlam Foundation projects.
Entrench and maintain existing relationships with service providers, partners and target markets/beneficiaries. Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Project Management qualification
3+ years of project/programme management
3+ years corporate experience would be an advantage
Prior line management experience would be an advantage
Prior NGO experience would be an advantage
Advanced experience using online project management system
Experience in programme/project management and reporting
Managing all aspects of multiple projects of different sizes, simultaneously
Exposure to wider sustainability thinking and factors affecting programme/project sustainability
Understanding of Financial Services Sector
Direct professional experience with the measurement and evaluation of projects
Working with cross-functional/multi-disciplinary programme/project teams
Report writing
Experience with digital project management Processes and Systems
Programme administration and project management capability
Knowledge and understanding of Risk management
Effective presentation and communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles and approaches
Knowledge of financial services and its BEE policies
Familiarity with basic accounting and financial reporting requirements
A firm understanding of the socio-economic challenges faced by the country
