**Head of Credit Risk and Collections** **_ your purpose_** Lead and support the design, development, and execution of strategic and tactical business solutions for the credit and collections function of the division by utilizing data and information to support operational forecasting, strategic decision-making, and innovation. Lead the overall credit risk activity by defining credit risk/debt strategies, realizing policies, monitoring the execution of procedures, conducting assessment/analytics, and taking ownership of the credit and fraud portfolio. Lead the optimization of collections and recoveries strategies, delivering on collections forecast/targets, processes, and people to ensure the business goals are achieved. **_ your day-to-day responsibilities_** **Strategy** Lead the development and execution of credit risk and collections strategies (short and long-term) to achieve targeted KPIs in line with strategic business objectives. Contribute to the business strategy by providing credit/debt advice, insights and support and ownership of the 5-year strategy. **Credit Risk and Collections Management** Direct the implementation & monitoring of credit risk controls and measures across divisions & channels to mitigate/manage bad debt risks and improve cash flow. This includes collection strategies, risk scorecards, setting credit limits and monitoring performance to maintain financial wellbeing. To manage and uphold the Group's credit risk mandate. **Analysis & Reporting** Oversee the compilation of credit analysis & reporting to ensure awareness and provide insights into credit risk exposure and changes across the group. This includes debt forecasting and modelling. **Research** Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and industry best practices i.t.o. credit/debt to ensure compliance (considering affordability) and contribute to the development and roll-out of credit products. **Leadership & Team Management** Lead and drive the team by setting clear direction and transparent expectations, to exhibit the culture and values of the business and achieve/exceed KPIs. Identify and drive succession planning, structure, talent management, training and development requirements to ensure teams are competent and skilled to perform their required functions." **Financial Performance** Mitigate bad debt levels and provisioning by facilitating the delivery of expected outcomes. Forecast and analyse data against target thresholds on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for collections and recoveries area. Ensuring the achievement of operational business targets for credit risk, collections, and recoveries. **Fraud Management** Responsible for the management and oversight of the Fraud strategy and mitigation of fraud losses. Administration of the implementation of systems to mitigate fraud such as biometrics. **_ what are the requirements?_** - A relevant Post Graduate Degree, preferably in Mathematics or Stats - 10+ Years within the Retail Credit Risk and Collections environment with a minimum of 3-5 years at a senior management level - Commercial Acumen & Intelligence; Analysis; Programming & Modelling; Communication Skills; Planning & Budgeting; Leadership, People Management & Skills Development; Process Knowledge; Risk Management - Credit lifecycle including store card credit/ lending products. Collections and recoveries strategies. Credit Risk Industry Knowledge and compliance; Market Intelligence; IFRS 9 Proficiency, Fraud strategies **_ who we are_
