We are seeking an experienced, results-driven, and strategically minded individual to fill the role of Head of Collections and Credit Risk. This key leadership position involves providing strategic direction to the Collections and Credit department, ensuring the sustainable execution of strategic and operational objectives across the credit and collections life cycles.
You will hold at least a Bachelor's degree (Honours/MBA or equivalent preferred) and have a minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in the financial services sector, specifically in collections and credit risk. Familiarity with best practices and legal requirements for collections, along with a strong quantitative skillset and proficiency in Excel, is crucial.
Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of collection and credit strategies, management and development of the collections team, and ensuring legislative compliance. Additionally, you will oversee the department's resource management and budget control, while maintaining high performance levels under pressure in a fast-paced professional environment.
The ability to effectively manage both soft and hard collections, work within a compliance-regulated environment, and handle the end-to-end collections and credit processes are important prerequisites. A background in a financial institution or large credit retailer, alongside a deep understanding of credit bureau datasets, NCR regulations, and collections technologies, will be viewed favourably.
As the leader of the collections and credit team, you will leverage your expertise and experience to reduce overdue accounts and minimise defaults, while also ensuring data integrity and optimal use of technology. You will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain operational dashboards, along with effective incentive strategies for the collections team.
