Distribution Centre Manager

**RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:
**1. **Staff Management**:

- Lead, direct & monitor staff
- Ensure that there are sufficient staff quantities present to perform required duties within stipulated budget.
- Train and evaluate others
- Adhere to performance review schedule

**2. **Stock Control**:

- Monitoring and controlling stock, ensuring adequate rotation and handled within the proper policies and procedures.
- Food safety including compliance to food & safety rules, standards and regulations, control measures are upheld and are adhered to and HACCP principles are always adhered to.
- Ensure standard operating procedures are enforced at all times for Distribution.
- Manage the stock levels and ordering in line with specified targets

**3. **Product Performance & Delivery**:

- Track success / satisfaction rate of uptake of central kitchen meals within stores and track items returned.
- Immediately react to all Non-Conformances raised and ensure reoccurrence is eliminated through proper root cause analysis.
- Manage the full delivery function, ensuring; accuracy, punctuality, proper temperatures, condition of delivery trucks.
- Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
- Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store products.

**4. **Supplier Governance**:

- Vetting, sourcing, approving, rating and monitoring of suppliers, through the Setup and implementation of a dashboard in line with SLA's.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.

**QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED**
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in distribution centre and inventory management.
- Related qualification would be advantageous
- Experience in logistics
- Knowledge of HACCP & Good Manufacturing Principles
- Previous experience in bulk distribution & Micros advantageous
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Self-motivated and deadline oriented
- High attention to detail, analytical and process driven
- Strong Leadership ability
- Planning and organizing
- Scheduling and monitoring
- Communication skills
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Stress tolerance
