Project Manager 18 Months Fixed Term Contract

The above strategic vacancy exists within the office of the Chief Operations Officer to manage the provision of project management and business analysis services as they relate to the Business System Replacement Project and other key strategic projects within SAMRO.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- A post-matric qualification, and ideally a relevant degree (e.g. business management, information technology). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI or equivalent certification from an accredited program.
- At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and GSuite.
- Skills with experience presenting to stakeholders and/or Senior Leadership.
- Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
- Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
- Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective.
- Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment.
- Strong project, risk and budget management skills with experience in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing multiple medium-scale projects from definition through implementation, involving internal personnel and consultants.
- Ideally, evidence of appropriate training and/or an appropriate qualification.
- A strong theoretical and practical understanding of project management and business analysis methodologies, techniques, and tools.
- A sound knowledge of systems development life cycles, both waterfall and agile.
- Computer and IT systems literacy.
- Ideally, experience in royalty administration and the media and entertainment industry.
- Vendor/supplier management.
- Experience in driving and delivering strategic projects through an organization
- Drive implementation of project management methodologies through the organisation

**DUTIES**

Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
**Project management**

Support business owners of projects within SAMRO in managing their projects effectively by assisting with project management activities, such as:
Methodology
- Establishing, maintaining and refining the methodology for provision of project management and business analysis services within SAMRO.
- Establishing structures, policies and procedures required to implement the methodology.
- Complying with and helping to enforce standard policies and procedures.

Project initiation
- Producing business cases, outlining solution options.
- Conducting feasibility studies to ensure that options are achievable.
- Creating terms of reference which specify the project objectives and scope.
- Creating project schedules, outlining the sequence of all activities and tasks.
- Liaise/negotiate with the necessary vendors/divisions within the organization to ensure project resourcing.
- Budgeting financial expenditure throughout the project.
- Producing a risk plan to identify and mitigate project risks.
- Defining all quality targets, standards, assurance, and control procedures.
- Documenting the acceptance criteria for project deliverables.
- Establishing clear communications plans.
- Creation of a delegation of authority for the project and setup of project management structure for each project stream.

Project governance and execution
- Managing the project plan and keeping stakeholders properly informed.
- Controlling expenditure to ensure delivery within the approved project budget.
- Checking that adequate quality assurance and control processes are undertaken to meet targets specified in the quality plan.
- Overseeing the approval process for all project change requests.
- Raising project risks and recommended mitigation plans for approval.
- Helping to resolve issues currently affecting the project.
- Managing the production of all project deliverables.
- Gaining customer acceptance for each deliverable produced.
- Ensuring communications plans are executed in a timely manner.

Project closure
- Ensuring project closure workshops occur, and reports are produced related to the full post project measures of success.
- Gaining approval from project sponsors for closure of projects.
- Communicating closure of projects to all stakeholders once complete.

**Business analysis**

In consultation with the IT systems, support business owners of projects within SAMRO in managing their projects effectively by assisting with business analysis activities, such as:
