You'll be responsible for the development and execution of the sales and operational strategy in South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho and Namibia. To lead, manage, track and measure sales and distribution teams in the achievement of sales and profitability targets. The ongoing training and development of sales and distribution partners to achieve best in class service levels and in store execution

**Minimum Requirements**:
Education
- B degree or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification

Advantageous
- MBA

Legal Requirements
- Driver’s License

Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in FMCG experience,
- 5+ years’ experience in leading & managing sales team within the FMCG industry,

Knowledge
- Knowledge of trade marketing principles & managing FMCG customers,
- Knowledge of inventory systems & route to market with perishable products,
- Management of Sales & Merchandising agents and route to market partners,
- Relationship management skills in the FMCG industry,
- Conflict resolution skills,
- Negotiation skills,
- Communications skills,
- Ability to motivate and inspire others,
- Attention to detail,
- Commercial & Analytical skills relevant to the FMCG industry,
- Up to date understanding of FMCG food market trends and new developments for business improvement

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic thought leadership with commercial rigour to grow the Nando’s brand sustainably through our Sales Agents & RTM Partners.
- Lead, develop and inspire an excellent organisation to deliver the following brilliantly:

- Perfect execution of all in-trade initiatives that grow Nando’s PERi-PERi awareness, education, engagement or trial;
- Collaboration with our restaurant & sales & distribution partners.
- Share knowledge and best practices across the business.
- Serve our Nando’s purpose, infusing a social and ethical conscience as well as profit in relevant ways through the Grocery organisation and partners.
- Growing people to realise their potential, in an organisation that takes its People agenda seriously.
- Support finance, marketing, channel, customer and Restaurant teams to deliver our commercial goals, together.
- To conduct ongoing tracking of the trade - competitor activity, NPD, pricing, promotions by market, channel, retailer and region, and to report changes and general trade status to the business monthly basis
- To set up and conduct quarterly review with key customers at operational level
- Ongoing opportunity identification (distribution, promotions, NPD etc.). Present opportunities internally on a regular basis and manage implementation into the customer as required
- To conduct regular Point of Purchase auditing of the top stores on a regional basis. Prepare reports of POP performance/execution by the distributor, and manage improvements with them
- Hold regular briefings with distributor reps (fortnightly) and managers (monthly). Feedback all issues internally and manage as required.
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures for the various service delivery models across the Nando’s system and ensures that they are maintained and updated on a regular basis
- To motivate and direct the sales and distribution agent teams in market to ensure delivery of sales targets
- To ensure on-time, in full supply of all products by facilitating the ordering and production planning and supply
- To ensure effective training & coaching of sales and distribution agent teams in terms of the Nando’s marketing execution standards
- To execute the Trade Marketing Calendar (sales activities)
- Formulate national sales execution plans aligned to business unit plans
- Ensures that all sales and distribution agent teams meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes
- Maintains contact with all customers in the market area to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Leverage market and customer information to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities
- Develops, manages and monitors the Technical Operations budget to ensure the best value and ROI on all expenditure.
