Karri is a fast growing school payments business on a mission to make school payments quick and simple for both our schools and their parents. Hundreds of schools are using Karri across South Africa. Join us and play a pivotal role in bringing accelerated adoption of Karri to schools in Gauteng. Karri is powered by Nedbank, and is the only Fintech company in the schools space that is backed by a bank to bring safe, secure and trusted payments and collections into schools.
As part of our sales team we will look to you to present, promote and sell Karri to schools in and around the East Rand and Southern Johannesburg area.
As a Sales Representative, you will be required to:
- Build your Sales Pipeline: Identify, engage with, and sign (close) new prospective client schools within your sales region. This can include cold calling, attending relevant conferences, hosting product demonstrations at SGB meetings, pitching to multiple key decision makers over a series of weeks.
- Launch newly signed clients. This includes scheduling product training sessions with school-end users, to the point at which they load their first collection on Karri.
- Successfully handover the maintenance of client relationships to an account manager in your area to ensure ongoing client activity and to reduce the risk of dormancy.
- Work within our CRM system, to manage, track and update changes in your sales pipeline.
Requirements of the role:
- FinTech sales professional with experience in the payment industry,
- _or_ a sales professional with experience in selling to schools,
- _or_ an extremely talented teacher with precisely 4-5 years experience (your school will be very sad to see you go)
- Commercial nous
- Remote selling experience a distinct advantage
- Love of data
- Previous experience with CRM systems an advantage
- Strong computer literacy skills
- User of Karri (preferable), Snapscan, Zapper, banking apps
- Ability to organise and manage one’s own time and meetings strategically and effectively.
- Confident but not arrogant
- High achiever, A-type personality with strong attention to detail
Realities of the Role
Working in a remote sales role and with education partners, some days might feel monotonous while others will be very high energy. The process of getting schools to take on a new system can be a challenging but a hugely rewarding process. Buy-in has to come from multiple stakeholders. Oftentimes, you will need to be managing multiple schools in various stages of the sales pipeline and their growth in using Karri in their school.
