The EDM Data Analyst will become part of the Enterprise Data Management competency within Glacier and assist the current leads in ensuring data management and data governance practices and standards, across the delivery life cycle. Also to assist with correct use of data to create meaningful management information across every level of business, in accordance with regulatory requirements, data management and data governance policy. The Enterprise Data Management team is responsible for the Glacier data management and governance frameworks and strategic implementation (including data storage, data quality profiling, etc.) and execution of regulatory projects such as PPR13, GOI3 and POPIA. A close collaboration with multiple partners of other divisions is key to enable, support and provide a holistic Data Management and Governance framework.
Key outcomes
The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the EDM Data Analyst:

- Ensures data integrity and compliance by performing data cleansing, data audits, and data validation
- Responsible for development of master/reference data rules, procedures, and governance
- Review and co-design with BI/IT Developers in making minor changes or enhancements to EBX or
- Informatica data tools
- Partners with Delivery/ Design and OPS teams to perform root-cause analysis on data-related system
- problems and recommends or executes corrective action
- Partners with the BI/IT Developers in the creation and implementation of new or revised designs that
- affect master/reference data
- Responsible for evaluating logical and physical data modelling ensuring data requirements are mapped
- to processes as part of the SDLC
- Focus on Data Quality management and data privacy metrics that will align with Sanlam data and information governance principles
- Focus on Data Governance activities, like involvement in workgroups and establishment of policies

Manage Data Quality metrics and reporting
- Engaging with Data Owners and stewards in the DQ workgroup
- Maintain existing or develop new reporting requirements (Confluence)
- Maintain existing or develop new Data Quality metrics and associated data dimensions (Confluence)
- Build-out and maintain effective reporting against Glacier (DB2 ULP) and GI (Kane IMS) - Client Domain and onward.
- Execute (Schedule/Repeatability) effective reporting against Glacier (DB2 ULP) and GI (Kane IMS) - Client Domain and onward
- Ensure DQ reporting stats flows through to the Sanlam IG Dashboard (SAP/PowerBI)

Improving data efficiencies & fluidity within Glacier IT and Business
- Build-out & Maintain catalog for Business metadata (Axon) - Client Domain
- Build-out & Maintain catalog for Systems metadata (Enterprise Data Catalog) - Client Domain
- Identify potential obstacles/bottlenecks that could hinder data fluidity

Data Management and Data Governance tooling
- Setup and import of reference data onto platform, creation of validation rules for the tables, workflows for promotion between environments (TIBCO EBX) What will make you successful in this role?

Assist with Glacier Data Governance activities
- Involvement in data governance committee and workgroups and assist with gap identification and governance improvements across business and IT
- Assist with data governance processes and help optimisation efforts of these (Data Privacy Breaches & Data Subject Participation Requests)

Qualifications and experience
- Matric with technology diploma or degree
- FTI Analysis diploma
- Data Analysis qualification would be advantages
- 3 + years experience in IT in an analysis role
