Product Manager

**Prerequisites**:

- Have knowledge and thorough understanding of the Munsoft system as well as accounting principles and GRAP standards relevant to local government.
- Understand the Local Government landscape and the financial systems and solutions implemented in that market sector.
- Extensive knowledge of our third parties, ensuring they adhere to all mSCOA technical requirements and highlight any overlapping of function offerings.
- Need to be familiar with the MFMA Circulars issued to date as well as the mSCOA Circulars.
- Knowledge of the Project summary document based on 6.6
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, Accounting or Business is a requirement.
- Experience in SQL queries a plus.
- Exceptional planning, management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate individuals across teams.
- Capabilities and personality to demonstrate the system to potential municipal clients and stakeholders by presenting product features and benefits, showing how the product works, with the ability address questions with confidence and skilfulness.

**Responsibilities & attributes**:

- Continuous improvement of Munsoft through your knowledge and understanding of the legislative and regulatory requirements in affect. This entails being and staying up to date with the latest MFMA and mSCOA circulars. Analysing new National Treasury requirements identifying and reporting on possible risks and detailed action plan on how this will be addressed. Sharing the circular analysis with all relevant departments within Munsoft scheduling engagements with staff to address any concerns and/or queries.
- Being in the Financial System environment you need to ensure that Munsoft adhere to all required standards in terms of GRAP.
- Gaining and maintaining knowledge on the data tables as it is a requirement for the Development department.
- Regular engagements with Munsoft users with the aim to achieve, monitor and report on the following:

- Module acceptance. This needs to be monitored and addressed where modules are not in use with regular progress reports.
- Ability to understand and address system related issues, this will require extensive knowledge of Munsoft as this is the cornerstone of exceptional user engagements benefitting the client as well as Munsoft.
- Conducting ongoing efforts to achieve better understanding of the user needs and documenting the necessary system specification on how this will be addressed, benefitting the entire user base.
- Discussing functionality with the user that could help performing their day-to-day tasks more efficiently, this can be existing functionality with in Munsoft which the user is not aware of, thus system knowledge is vital.
- Assisting the clients in becoming mSCOA compliant and reporting progress to management on regular basis implementing solutions and monitoring thereof.
- Attending user group and provincial treasury meetings. Reporting back to the various stakeholders within Munsoft, with an action plan on how to address challenges recorded in the minutes. Regular progress report ensuring all challenges are indeed addressed.
- Working with the Product and Project green team, ensuring that all National Treasury data validation requirements are adhered to achieving 100% success rate across all uploads, which includes monthly, quarterly, and annually, financial, and non-financial.
- Testing new features throughout the development phase, document the testing to assist the final testing done by the testing department. Attending each Munsoft release awareness session held by the training department, addressing questions as a representative of the Product team.
- Attending to support calls that have been escalated to development not limited to only for mSCOA or accounting guidance, but also possible enhancements required, with complete feedback to the requestor if the enhancement will be considered or rejected and motivation for the rejection.
- Be able to work as part of the Munsoft product team, delivering the following roadmaps on a timely basis:

- Internal roadmap for management, development, and sales with the focus being the company’s vision
- External roadmap getting customer base excited about the product.
- Travel when required
