Main Responsibilities:
(Primary):

- Manage Live Production Database servers running SQL 2008-2019, Configure Replication/Mirroring/SQL Clustering, AlwaysOn,TDE, SQL Performance management, ensuring backup policies are implemented.
- Ensure correct Monitoring and Monitoring thresholds are configured for each Server
- Ensure High service availability complying with business SLA
- Maintain Disaster recovery servers and documentation
- Ensure SOPs are Updated after each RFC
- Writing and tuning SQL queries
- Performing database monitoring and tuning of a SQL compliant database
- Functional Knowledge on scripting languages and Systems administration automation processes
- Functional knowledge on SSL/TLS processes
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong understanding of networking concepts
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of major system components in completing assigned tasks (i.e., storage systems, Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system, and Windows infrastructure).
- Configure controls; install or troubleshoot programs within multiple system environments.
- Construct Job Control Language (JCL) or scripts for processing of workloads by system.
- Provide prompt recovery and problem escalation for the exceptions, extrapolating and integrating information within defined boundaries, using multiple system management and problem management tools.
- Partner closely with development groups, support groups, and vendors to coordinate special operations, and communicate/escalate problems as appropriate to meet assigned deadlines.
- Assist in daily support of the systems/products assigned, through early detection and pursuit or changes in system responses or operation. - Work closely with support groups to refine system monitoring and reporting, and to assist them in their analysis and problem recovery.
- Demonstrate knowledge of system components in completing assigned tasks (i.e., storage systems, Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system, and Windows infrastructure).
- Diagnose system performance problems.
- Perform online system functions to assist with tasks encountered in execution of daily responsibilities such as utility functions and editing of files.
- Develop lists/scripts for execution of commonly used processes and automation of simple tasks.
- Proper implementation of team changes and service requests.
- Proper creation, execution, documentation, and closure of tasks, changes, and requests.- Maintenance:

- Responding to monitoring alerts from System Support within SLA.
- Checking daily for errors in the log files.
- Performing tasks on the system as required by customers.
- Identifying areas where improvements can be made.
- Documentation:

- Creating and maintaining documentation pertaining to the installation and maintenance of the system.
- Make documentation available to peers and management.
- Ensure that all documentation is kept up-to-date.
- Research:

- Awareness of all new vulnerabilities for products and services.
- In addition to the above, we may call upon you to assist with any other reasonable tasks, which need to be carried out. From time to time your duties and responsibilities will be reviewed in consultation with yourself and adjusted where appropriate.
