National Outsourced Deports Manager

To manage external service providers to ensure to ensure effective and efficient stock movement from inbound to outbound in line with company standards and requirements (Premier Way). - To manage the Mafikeng Depots (a baking and milling depot) and provide functional support all Premier Milling depots with the implementation of internal best practises and standards. **Main objectives of the position**: - To maintain OTIF service levels across all outsourced depots of >98% by: - Ensuring understanding and implementation of the service level / 3PL agreements as per Premier requirements which includes HSER and Food safety standards - Building and maintaining effective working relationships - Regular engagement and effective meetings and reports - Enabling the service provider team to perform their duties - Providing operational support, trouble shooting and escalations when needed - Tracking and reporting performance against targets - Adhoc auditing of key control points - Providing recognition / corrective action - Supporting continuous improvement practises and implementation of best practises - Approving contingency plans in the event of business interruptions at 3PL’s - Ensuring cost effective operations in collaboration with the relevant parties - To optimize the flow of stock in the warehouse through operational management processes that includes but is not limited to: - warehouse utilization planning - process flow management and organization, - general good housekeeping - picking controls - stock control and or rotation, - pallet control - Regular review stock buffers and providing feedback to Central Planning - To manage, control and minimize operational costs in line with agreed budget through the implementation of cost control and continuous improvement practises in collaboration with the site management team. - To ensure compliance and adherence to the requirements of Premier Food Safety standards, policies and procedures through implementation of: - operational guidelines on good housekeeping practices - daily cleaning processes and practices - monitoring of operational controls - ongoing the management of bad goods - ongoing maintenance of building and premises in collaboration with relevant parties - planned and effective infestation controls - To ensure a safe working environment and compliance to the OHS Act and Premier Health and Safety policies and procedures through implementation of: - monthly SHE committee meetings and representatives - Regular reviews of SOPS as per schedule - Training and assessment of employees on all SOP’s to ensure competence - operational controls to ensure adherance - ongoing monitoring and reporting - effective risk mitigation and management processes in collaboration with the Risk manager as evident through satisfactory internal and external HSE audit results - To create a high performing warehouse team through the management of staff performance in line with the Premier way through processes to: - Cascading and contracting of scorecards for all warehouse staff - Agreeing and monitoring performance and development through IDP’s or team skills training plans - Recognition and reward of excellent performance - Manage poor performance in line with company procedures - Train staff as per plan to ensure knowledge transfer and effective integration of new staff - Facilitate effective Invocoms and coaching and mentoring others - Proactively manage talent and mitigating succession risks - Monitor time and attendance using Biometric system reports. - Ensure accurate debriefing with the relevant stakeholders to: - Minimise conversion losses - Ensure good cash management and document control - Support stock control - Adherence to the uplift procedure. - To ensure operational excellence and ONE PREMIER APPROACH to logistics in all Premier Milling Depots by providing functional advice and guidance to Milling Depot Managers as needed in line plans and schedule. **Qualification Requirements**: Qualifications: - Logistics or Supply chain management diploma or equivalent **Experience Requirements**: Experince: - 5 - 7 years Management of continuous operations - 3 - 5 years FMCG warehouse management **Key Outputs**:** Technical job-related knowledge**: - Supplier Management principles - Performance management principles - Disciplinary process principles - Stock management/ rotation principles - Lean Green belt qualification - Cost management principles - Process control systems - Health and Safety Act requirements for 16.2 appointee - FSS/HSE auditing techniques - General Good Housekeeping principles - Warehouse SOP’s - I **Job related skills**: - Supplier management processes - Stock and cost management processes - Microsoft Office proficiency - Leadership and supervisory skills - Disciplinary process and procedures - Performance management skills - Training and coaching - Auditing skills - Report writing and presentation skills
