Innovation Manager

Overview: Embedded within the feed additive business, this position takes responsibility for all related product and production innovation and associated process innovation projects as well as product quality control. In this dual role (s)he leads and coaches a team of researchers and liaises closely with production managers, product managers, technical service managers and account managers. **Responsibilities**: Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: - Lead and manage R&D and QC activities and with regular supervision. - Develop, manage, train, and mentor direct reports to reach goals. - Develop and manage budget, as applicable. - Provide input to and execute strategic plan. - Lead multiple projects and take a lead in PIP meetings. - Work with and within cross functional teams (including Operations, Sales, Marketing R&D, and other quality groups. - Perform literature reviews and incorporating into research strategies. - Participate in external research collaborations. - Actively identify and explore research areas that could lead to new product development or process improvement, with mínimal supervision. - Independently develop SOPs, research protocols, and research methods. - Independently perform lab and field experiments followed by data analysis, interpretation and reporting. - Generate scientific publications used for internal or external purposes. - Prepare and present research reports in multiple formats for both internal and external stakeholders. - Adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures, documentation, and guidelines. - Troubleshoot issues with laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Qualifications: - PhD (or equal by experience) with >10 years of participation in the agro-science or bio-engineering field. Language Skills: - English: Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. - Must be able to effectively speak in front of large groups. Mathematical and Science Skills: - Ability to choose the right mathematical/statistical methods or formulas to solve/address a data related problem. - Ability to design experiments based on sound observations and classifying, measuring, inferring, and predicting activities. Reasoning Ability: - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Using logic and inductive/deductive reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. LI-SN1
