**RIGID DUMP TRUCK OPERATORS (RDT)**

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Code 10 Driver’s licence
- Valid Rigid Dump Truck (RDT) competency certificate.
- Dover test with Symbol A.
- 3 years’ work-related experience operating **773/777 RDT** or equivalent.
- Medically Fit.
- Operational knowledge of opencast mining and earth moving equipment.
- Must understand the importance of working safely.

**Responsibilities**
- Must be able to complete pre-use inspection and risk assessment.
- Take full care of the truck regarding its cleanliness and tyre protection.
- Conduct a brake test at the start of the shift and once with a load during the shift.
- Reporting equipment defects.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Achieve the daily planned target of loads transported.
- Load and haul material to the correct dumps.
- Report hourly loads hauled to the Shift Controller
- Safety, Health and Environment:

- Identify specific risks within the area and adhere to discipline - specific plans/systems to avoid these risks._

**Education**:

- High School (matric) (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Operating 773/777 RDT Or Equivalent: 3 years (required)

License/Certification:

- Dover Test Result: A (required)
- Rigid Dump Truck (RDT) Competency Certificate (required)
- Code 10 Driver’s Licence (required)
