Senior Manager: Credit Risk and Collections Strategy

**Here’s what you can expect to be doing in the role**:

- Represent Credit Risk within business strategy relating to collections
- Lead the strategy to ensure a robust risk framework is in place to effectively manage collections risk to achieve the required strategic return on the portfolio
- Implement policies, strategies, and procedures to improve debtors’ costs and cash yields
- Lead a team of analysts that are responsible for forecasting the portfolio level provision and recovery of bad debt
- Ownership of the debtor costs in the income statement and work closely with finance to deliver on forecasts
- Collaborate with the Credit Operation management to execute effective strategies
- Monthly review of all strategies and recommend changes on collections and recoveries
- Establish and maintain appropriate governance and ownership of IFRS 9 models and forecasting models
- Participate in the recruitment and talent management process within Credit Risk
- Be able to build the forecast and analytical models within the Credit Risk environment
- Be skilled in SQL and data analytics to assist the Credit Risk team
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes relevant to credit risk and the portfolio

**Other**
- Some travel to Johannesburg and Durban will be required

**A little about who you are**:

- A numerate degree e.g. BCom, B Bus Sci, B Eng, BSc
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Credit Risk
- Retail experience preferable
- Experienced in managing a team of analysts
- Advanced computer literacy skills with high proficiency in MS Excel
- Sound understanding of provisioning and IFRS 9
- The ability to integrate and interpret numerical and statistical information
- SQL skills preferable
