**Job Advert**:
We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Generalist who will be required to provide a holistic HR service and support to the Operations business unit within Ackermans. This person will be responsible to support and help manage key people initiatives and associated resources in cooperation with the HR Manager, ensuring that effective service is rendered to stakeholders and that the HR strategies drive business results.
**Qualifications**:
- A 3-year tertiary HR Qualification (Human Resource Management/Industrial and/or Organizational Psychology.

**KNOWLEDGE**:

- A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Knowledge and experience on HRIS systems.
- Sound knowledge of HR and Payroll administration processes
**SKILLS**:
- The ability to be resilient, have tenacity and maintain high levels of drive and initiative under pressure
- The ability to influence across various levels and functions within the business
- Customer service focus both internally and externally and ensuring good interpersonal relationships
- Excellent language skills (verbal and written) in English
- Be able to work independently, as well as be a team player
- Good judgment together with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both within, as well as outside the company
- Exceptional planning, organising & time management skills
**EXPERIENCE**:
**Essential**:
- 2-3 years HR Consultant/Generalist experience
**Advantage**:
- Previous relevant HR Generalist experience within a retail environment
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Operational Plans**
- Provide input to the Functional plan
- Implement operational action plans to meet business needs
- Deliver on HR Projects related to the business, HR or functional strategy
**Recruitment**
- Driving the recruitment and selection process in portfolios in line with EE targets
- Induction
**Talent Management**
- Performance management process
- Assist in the implementation and roll out
- Consolidate and audit performance appraisal process and results - and recommend improvements and/or changes.
- Facilitate the resolution poor performance
- Talent Planning
- Consolidate training needs and liaise with Training from PDP
- Development to establish individual, team and functional training
- Identify and coordinate training and development interventions
- Succession planning
**Employee Relations**
- Advice and assist line managers in all matters governed by the LRA and company policies
- Assist and support the line managers with management of performance and capacity issues
- Facilitate the resolution of:
- Misconduct
- Poor performance
- Incapacity
**Culture**
- Engagements
- Manage survey process for relevant teams, communicate results, facilitate action plans
- Facilitate and drive team culture, values and principles in line with company brand and business culture
- Facilitate and assist with change management
- Manage the exit interview process (for all positions up to and including C band)
**Administration and reporting**
- Create and govern employee information files
- Compiling, maintaining and analysing HR information & statistics in order to optimize decision-making and meet all administrative, reporting and legislative requirements
- Ensure appropriate record keeping for employee relations and performance management
- Payroll inputs on SAGE payroll system
- Distribute relevant documentation (i.e. LOA, Offer letters)
**Remuneration**
- Advice line managers on all remuneration and benefits related matters.
- Advise employees on benefits and remuneration (including package structuring)
