A production manager is responsible for overseeing the entire process and ensuring that the production goals are met efficiently and on schedule. Their primary duties include:

- Planning and scheduling: Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and deadlines for projects, taking into consideration available resources, equipment, and staff.
- Resource management: Allocate and manage resources, such as personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies, to optimize production efficiency and minimize costs.
- Quality control: Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality products. This includes monitoring the production process, inspecting finished products, and addressing any quality issues that arise.
- Staff management: Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks efficiently and maintain quality standards.
- Coordination with other departments: Collaborate with other departments, such as design, sales, and logistics, to ensure seamless integration of the process within the overall workflow of the company.
- Maintenance and equipment management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition and minimizing downtime.
- Inventory management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials and supplies, to avoid stockouts and minimize waste.
- Budgeting and cost control: Develop and manage budgets for the department, controlling costs and optimizing efficiency.
- Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement new technologies or techniques, and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
- Reporting and documentation: Maintain records of production data, such as output, quality, and efficiency, and provide regular reports to senior management.

By effectively managing these responsibilities, a production manager can ensure that the process runs smoothly, meets quality standards, and achieves the company's production goals.

**Requirements and More Information**:
Minimum 5 years experience in a production manager role (staff management essential)
Will be responsible for managing staff
Experience with unions/bargaining councils beneficial
Own transportation
Willing to work weekends & overtime
Kuilsriver area

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kuils River, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
