Digital Content Specialist

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Digital Content Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing digital content across various platforms to enhance our online presence and engage our target audience. This role requires a deep understanding of digital marketing strategies and the ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions.
The Digital Content Specialist will work closely with the marketing team, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all content aligns with our brand voice and business objectives. Key responsibilities include developing quarterly content strategy, content calendars, planning email newsletters, paid media, SMS, and other digital content.
Additionally, the Digital Content Specialist will be expected to stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our content strategy. KEY DUTIES:
1. Develop and implement content strategies that align with business goals.
2. Monitor the creation and publishing of the content for our blog, website, and social media platforms.
3. Reporting – weekly and monthly reports on campaign performance.
4. Research competitors, target market, and relevant keywords for our digital marketing strategies.
5. Run digital content campaigns for our website and social media.
6. Participate in planning and implementation of effective marketing campaigns.
7. Collaborate with Graphic Designers and Illustrators to come up with appropriate visual content.
8. Craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences, utilizing storytelling techniques to enhance engagement and drive brand loyalty.
9. Monitor performance of the content across all digital media platforms.
10. Edit content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
11. Write content for various platforms, including blogs and social media posts, when necessary.
12. Ensure all content follows the best SEO practices and our company’s style guidelines.
13. Manage our marketing, writing, and design teams to ensure everyone meets their deadlines.
14. Manage brand messaging on social networks.
15. Produce and host videos for YouTube and the website based on content plan and marketing goals.
16. Manage social media for all channels.
17. Coordinate video production (outsourced).
18. Plan quarterly content roll out.
19. Manage overall marketing calendar.
20. Assist with the day-to-day assembly & deployment of required social media (Facebook, Instagram + Twitter), mailer & SMS communications when required.
21. Brief all digital content requirements into the design studio in accordance with agreed lead times.
22. Work closely with community managers to actively seek out and act on engagement opportunities within our online communities.
23. Utilize Marketing Cloud and Email on Acid effectively and accurately to deploy mailers, build customer journeys and perform A/B testing.
24. Track monthly budget and report on variances accurately.
25. Utilize AI tools to effectively streamline your work.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
2. Matric and related tertiary education in digital content/marketing.
3. Ability to manage social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram) is essential.
4. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is advantageous.
5. High-level understanding of performance media (Facebook & Google), email communication strategies, and overall digital insights & analytics.
6. Domain knowledge in retail, online advertising, and eCommerce with strong affinity to the Cape Union Mart and K-Way Brands.
7. Experience in and a passion for creating content that supports our brand awareness and lead generation efforts.
8. Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
9. Ability to think creatively.
10. Ability to translate content into engaging and thought-provoking messages.
11. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships across geographies and levels.
12. Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
