Job Title: Quality Assurance ManagerJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Guardian Recruiting (Pty) Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote quality throughout by assuring compliance to an effective quality management system
  2. Continuous improvement of processes through the facilitation of problem solving and the process of change management
  3. Development and Management of Strategic Quality and Food Safety Objectives
  4. Promote the importance and benefit of Quality and Food Safety in the operation – be the Quality and Food Safety "conscience"
  5. Identify opportunities for Infrastructural GMP improvement initiatives
  6. Identify opportunities for implementation of Process, Product, Material and Equipment improvements – Optimise process capability
  7. Championing of QA Module
  8. External Auditing
  9. Quality and Food Safety related training needs are identified and appropriate training provided
  10. Risk Awareness, Identification and Management in the quality, lab and food safety environment
  11. Evaluate and liaise with suppliers in terms of ability to supply raw materials or services at desired quality level
  12. Liaise with Suppliers on Quality issues
  13. Management of Raw Material Specifications
  14. Management of Finished Goods specifications
  15. Identify requirements and develop and implement Quality and Food Safety Systems, Standards and Procedures as required
  16. Maintain Quality and Food Safety Systems and Procedures
  17. Monitor compliance with Quality Systems (System, GMP and behavioural auditing) and ensure corrective actions as required
  18. Ensure Management of all the Pre Requisite Programs (Pest Control etc)
  19. Ensure effective functioning of Food Safety Team
  20. Manage the Customer Complaints System
  21. Proactively liaise with key customers on product and service quality issues
  22. Ensure appropriate Quality related documentation to customer
  23. Laboratory function is managed professionally
  24. Recipe / Works Order control
  25. Management of Microbiological testing process
  26. Ensure that incoming goods Inspection Process is correctly managed
  27. Ensure the plant QC processes are managed
  28. Ensure quarantined or reject stock is appropriately managed
  29. Control of verification processes
  30. Ensure adherence to legislation policies, procedures and standards
  31. Consistently apply 5S principles
  32. Conduct Incident investigations
  33. Promote awareness and review performance
  34. Monitor and ensure corrective and preventative improvement actions through structured problem solving
  35. Create an environment conducive to innovation and an improvement mind set
  36. Setup effective teams and ensure review of performance
  37. Promote and ensure effective team communication
  38. Conduct Management Routines
  39. Manage performance of individuals
  40. Manage and ensure training and Development of Resources
  41. Manage IR situations and ensure positive IR environment
  42. Ensure that all administrative procedures are performed and documents are traceable
Requirements:
  1. BSc Degree, Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Food Science/Food Technology Diploma
  2. Additional Qualifications: Total Quality Management Certificate, HACCP Certificate, Management Certificate
  3. Minimum of 5–7 years after qualification is obtained
  4. Relevant additional management/specific system training is required
  5.
