Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stores Operations Manager to join our team at Primeserv Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day activities of the Stores department, ensuring the efficient control, receipt, and dispatch of stock, tools, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock Control and Management: Monitor, manage, and replenish stock levels, including PPE, consumables, and tools, as per min/max specifications. Place orders to replenish stock as needed. Conduct and supervise quarterly and annual stock counts. Review and analyze variance reports and reconciliations. Sign off on all stock capturing and adjustments. Maintain and update asset registers and HILTI systems.
  • Procurement and Financial Administration: Obtain quotes for stock, consumables, equipment, capex, and spares prior to processing purchase orders. Timeously place purchase orders and follow procurement procedures. Ensure traceable delivery/dispatch of stock as per company procedures. Maintain a purchase order register with spent and available balances. File all purchase orders, supplier invoices, and consignment notes as per company procedures.
  • Lead and Manage Team: Effectively manage the team, monitoring and rectifying staff adherence to standards and procedures. Regularly review and assess staff performance and training needs. Identify and address potential talent and skills gaps. Timeously manage employee relations matters.
  • Operations and Reporting: Maintain consumables stores, workshops, and premises. Manage fleet logistics and maintenance. Monitor, review, and sign off on wages and timesheets. Implement and manage waste management processes. Compile and submit weekly and monthly reports to management. File all records, working papers, and documents as per company policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
  • Technical Requirements: 5 years of relevant experience in an engineering environment. 5 years of experience in leading and managing a team.
  • Functional Competencies: MS Office and Syspro. Technical drawings knowledge. Product knowledge. Knowledge and experience with Occupational Health and Safety. Leading and managing a team. Reporting and writing. Excellent communication skills.
  • Behavioural Competencies: Deadline-driven. Planning and organizing. Action-oriented and results-driven. Self-starter. Ability to work within a team. Honesty and integrity. Customer orientation.
