Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Country Finance Controller and HR to join our team at Sisol Projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial leadership and strategic direction to the organization, as well as overseeing the human resources function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and balance sheets.
  • Ensure the respect of procedures and timing for the Group and the Internal Reporting, including the submission of VAT201 returns, EMP 201 returns, and IRP6 provisional tax on e-filing.
  • Support management decisions with financial perspective, analysis, and ad-hoc reports, and provide advice on regular or new business activities from various financial aspects.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop financial staff to ensure that the organization's accounting activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently, and according to relevant regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Cooperate with the accounting department to maintain an appropriate system of accounting, internal controls, and reporting to fulfill all requirements.
  • Recommend and monitor the use of various payment conditions, and monitor the credit standing of customers or other counterparties.
  • Provide support to other departments in communication with counterparties about credit risk and/or direct communication with counterparties with credit problems.
  • Select and maintain relations with external counterparties and providers of services for the financial area.
  • Keep deadlines for monthly/regular account closing and various reporting, and maintain good relationships with internal and external counterparties.
  • Optimize business processes to achieve acceptable outcomes of various audits.
  • Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems, including the processing of payroll changes and system upgrades, and ensure compliance with relevant local legislation and internal procedures.
  • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
  • Prepare provisional and income tax calculations.
  • Responsible for B-BBEE, Employment Equity, and Skills Development.
  • Ad-hoc duties.
Requirements
  • Must be a registered CA (SA) with SAICA.
  • Must have a BCom Accounting/Finance or similar.
  • A MBA/MBL would be advantageous but not essential.
  • At least 10 years post-articles experience in a Regional Senior Finance Controller role.
  • Solid experience of People Management/Human Resources.
  • Strong legal understanding and commercial background.
