Job Title: Senior Industry Analyst

Telebest is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industry Analyst to join our Research and Information Department. The main purpose of this role is to conduct in-depth research and strategic analysis of value chains and industries within the Mining and Metals sectors.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting in-depth analysis of specific value chains/industries/sub-sectors within the Mining and Metals sectors, including their composition, performance, recent trends, outlook, risks and development potential.
  2. Contributing to the formulation of strategies for Mining and Metals related value chain/industry/sector development.
  3. Providing inputs into macro-economic and sectoral forecasting.
  4. Disseminating value chain/industry-/sector-specific research and information, both internally and externally.
  5. Assisting in planning portfolio priorities from a sectoral perspective, including investment potential as well as associated developmental returns and risks.
  6. Analysing, on a continuous basis, supply- and demand-side conditions in various industrial commodity markets and their future prospects.
  7. Undertaking technical analysis of the prices of various commodities (industrial, energy and precious metals), as well as of the prices of specific equity holdings within the listed portfolio.
  8. Forecasting the prices of various commodities (industrial, energy and precious metals).
  9. Participating in new product development.

Requirements:

  • Honours degree in economics (or equivalent commercial qualification) followed by a related qualification at the Masters level (e.g. M. Commerce; M. Arts (Economics); MBA).
  • 5 to 7 years relevant and solid experience, preferably within an economic research environment.
  • Substantial experience and expertise in conducting in-depth value chain/industry/sectoral research and analysis.
  • Substantial experience and knowledge in sourcing, compiling, interrogating, testing and analysing statistical information, for use in quantitative analyses.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of economic policies, as well as a strong understanding of the economic environment (international and domestic) and factors influencing it.
