Job Summary:

Isilumko Staffing (JHB) is seeking a highly skilled Economic Strategist to join our team. As an Economic Strategist, you will play a critical role in delivering strategic sourcing and economic intelligence to enhance decision-making and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Economic Analysis: Analyze economic data and interpret trends to provide actionable insights that inform business decisions.
  • Procurement Optimization: Develop customized tools to understand procurement costs and impact on spend base, ensuring maximum value for the organization.
  • Market Intelligence: Create price index models and utilize predictive analytics for sourcing optimization, staying up-to-date on industry economic factors.
  • Sourcing Intelligence: Maintain a dashboard for sourcing intelligence and establish sourcing intelligence frameworks to support knowledge retention activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to drive transparency in cost analysis and ensure adherence to safety and risk management standards.
  • Professional Development: Continuously improve skills and knowledge through personal development plans, staying ahead of industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Education: University Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Econometrics, or a related field (preferably B.Com Economics/Econometrics).
  • Experience: At least 10 years' experience in an economic environment, with proficiency in economic indices and global commodity markets.
  • Skills: Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SharePoint skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
