Job Profile Summary

The IT Systems Administrator is a mid-level position in the IT Systems Administration job family. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the continuous availability of IT services by identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring system performance for medium complexity systems.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. The CA Spectrum System Administrator is responsible for topology maintenance, including device maintenance, store connection maintenance, and creation and removal.
  2. They ensure server infrastructure health, including backup schedules, and conduct NCM maintenance captures.
  3. They verify system integration, including CA Spectrum, CA Performance Manager, and CA NFA.
  4. Working closely with the team, they maintain the Service manager and are responsible for OneClick user maintenance and User/SNMP maintenance.
  5. They produce and supply ad-hoc device information on request.
  6. They perform operational tasks to resolve incidents and requests in a timely manner and within agreed SLA.
  7. They update tickets with resolution tasks performed.
  8. They identify, investigate, and analyze issues and errors prior to or when they occur and log all such incidents in a timely manner.
  9. They provide second-level support to all incidents, requests, and identify the root cause of incidents and problems.
  10. They communicate with other teams and clients for extending support.
  11. They execute changes with clear identification of risks and mitigation plans to be captured into the change record.
  12. They escalate all tickets to seek right focus from CoE and other teams, if needed, continue the escalations to management.
  13. They work with automation teams for effort optimization and automating routine tasks.
  14. They identify problems and errors before they impact a client's service.
  15. They lead and manage all initial client escalation for operational issues.
  16. They contribute to the change management process by logging all change requests with complete details for standard and non-standard changes, including patching and any other changes to Configuration Items.
  17. They ensure all changes are carried out with proper change approvals.
  18. They plan and execute approved maintenance activities.
  19. They audit and analyze incident and request tickets for quality and recommend improvements with updates to knowledge articles.
  20. They produce trend analysis reports for identifying tasks for automation, leading to reduction in tickets and optimization of effort.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant Degree/Diploma in the IT domain is preferred.
  2. CCNA qualification or A+ N+ is a requirement.
  3. CA Spectrum qualifications are a requirement.
  4. 3-5 years' work experience is essential.
  5. Must have experience using CA Spectrum Infrastructure Manager at an administrative level.
  6. Must have a working knowledge of networking in a corporate environment and be familiar with working with routers, switches, VLANs, SD-WAN, some Unix scripting.
  7. Moderate level knowledge in ticketing tools, preferably Remedy.
