Job Title: Systems Administrator On-Site

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team at RMV Solutions Pty Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks within the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Monitor backups and regularly verify the integrity and availability of all backup resources.
  • Regularly monitor security to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Install new and rebuild existing servers while maintaining installation and configuration procedures.
  • Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Identify approaches that leverage the company's resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and coordinate and communicate with impacted business units and escalate where necessary.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  • Configure/add new services as necessary.
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Install and maintain firewall access rules and policies.
  • Monitor communication links.
  • Document procedures and technical implementation.
  • Change control.
Requirements:

Role Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
  • Minimum 3 years' technical support experience.
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN & WAN), and patch management.
  • Good understanding of VOIP and associated Voice solutions.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data Backup/Recovery).
  • Have a strong grasp of computer security (e.g., firewalls and intrusion detection systems).
  • Familiar with various operating systems and platforms.
  • 2-3 years' experience as a server administration.
Education and Applicable Systems Experience:
  • Grade 12.
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Diploma or Degree).
  • MCP, MCSE.
Additional Requirements:
  • A+.
  • N+.
  • MCSA.
  • 3-4 years' experience as a server administration.
  • Cybersecurity certifications or experience.
