Job Title: Linux Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team at Dimension Data. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the support and management of our internal and client-facing Linux systems and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain our Linux server fleet footprint
  • Optimize Linux services and processes
  • Support day-to-day Linux services spanning 200+ servers (on-premise physical and virtualized)
  • Optimize Linux and relevant reporting (customer and internal)
  • Maintain design and support documentation
  • Develop and maintain knowledge articles
  • Change management
  • Maintain systems as defined in area of responsibility and ensure availability by performing regular maintenance
  • Ensure that all changes are managed and communicated effectively from initiation to resolution
Requirements:
  • Linux Certification (RHCA or equivalent, current)
  • 5 years' work experience managing and supporting Linux in an enterprise environment
  • Demonstrate solution and service knowledge
  • Demonstrate problem and trend analysis, and solution formulation skills
  • Possess strong general knowledge of infrastructure services relevant to Linux
  • DNS, NTP, DHCP, file systems (extX, NFS, CIFS, SMB etc), kernel, SSH, FTP (ftps/sftp/ftp), Samba, server setup and optimization, security hardening, network, and other common Linux services
  • CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat (N to N-2 versions)
  • Advance Bash scripting knowledge
  • Basic to intermediate skills to mass support, update, and maintain a Linux server fleet (Ansible, other)
  • ITSM and general MS Office skills
Desirable:
  • Support automation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Perl scripting
  • Python scripting
  • AWS IaaS service support (setup, maintain, and system administration)
  • Basic DevOps

We are looking for a seasoned and experienced professional with a full understanding of the specialization area. If you have a Bachelor's or equivalent degree, or moderate-level experience and a Master's or equivalent degree, or a PhD or equivalent degree without experience, or equivalent work experience, we encourage you to apply.
