Strategic Sourcing Manager

Work Africa is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to oversee all purchasing activities for our quick-service restaurant chain.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels, cost-effective sourcing, and maintaining quality standards for both food and non-food items.

Key attributes needed for this role include the ability to speak, read & write English fluently, numerical and statistical skills, computer literacy, planning/organising, identifying consumer behaviour, time management, and problem-solving.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Supply Chain Management or a relevant field, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement or sales.

Experience in QSR/FMCG is beneficial, and a proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Food & Beverage Procurement: Manage relationships with food and beverage suppliers, negotiate contracts and prices, monitor market trends and commodity prices, and ensure all food and beverage items meet company quality standards and food safety regulations.
  • Non-Food Items Procurement: Oversee procurement of operational supplies including restaurant uniforms, cleaning supplies, paper products, office supplies, and kitchen equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with Supply Chain teams to forecast demand and adjust ordering accordingly.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and select vendors based on price, quality, delivery reliability, and service, maintain a diverse supplier base, conduct regular vendor performance reviews, and resolve any supplier-related issues promptly.
  • Cost Control & Reporting: Analyze spending patterns, identify opportunities for cost savings, prepare regular reports on procurement metrics and KPIs, and monitor and control budget for all purchasing activities.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with procurement, develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks, and ensure business continuity.

Salary: Market related, based on experience (£45,000 - £60,000 per annum)
