At Curiska, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to drive sales growth and expansion in the African Market. Key responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting and securing new business opportunities through effective relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Maintaining and building strong relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Achieving sales targets and budgeted sales through strategic planning and execution.
  • Processing new sales leads, preparing quotes, and following up on customer inquiries.
  • Negotiating terms and conditions of sale, including payment terms, freight, and currency.
  • Preparing and presenting tenders and presentations to clients.
  • Providing excellent customer service, including product advice and technical information.
  • Extensive travel for business development, commissioning, training, presentations, and client entertaining.
  • Ensuring that refuge chambers sold meet company specifications.
  • Presenting sales results and opportunities to Management during monthly consultations.
  • Updating the company's CRM system.
  • Coordinating service and operator training with customers.
  • Developing the yearly strategic plan for the region.

Motivate, train, and mentor agents and distributors to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements include:

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in selling and supplying plant and equipment to the mining, construction, and petrochemical industries.
  • Ability to present to all levels within an organization, including Senior Management.
  • Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales budgets and targets.
  • Experience in the mining industry is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and maintain customer accounts.
  • Self-motivated and career-focused individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Diploma or degree in a related field would be an advantage.
