Job Title: Business Development Specialist

Fempower is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales and marketing team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and increasing profitability of our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a sales and business plan for BESS, focusing on increasing sales and profitability.
  • Manage the BESS product life cycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Provide technical expertise to the sales team to enable them to sell the product effectively.
  • Effectively manage sales and promotional resources to achieve targeted sales within an agreed period.
  • Act as the point of first reference for all product-related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues in Product Development & Technical to address any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct market research to specify market requirements for the current product.
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop advertising, promotion, and sales aids in accordance with the BESS promotional plan.
  • Prepare and present BESS internal reports to relevant executives, sales personnel, and other departments on a regular basis.
  • Attend and participate in product development meetings to continue adding value based on market trends.
  • Develop key opinion leader support for the BESS project.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary degree or work experience is a strong plus.
  • Not less than 3 years of relevant sales and business development experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the BESS industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assertive and persuasive.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical.
  • Initiative.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ensures consistency and accuracy of message.
  • Delivers unified, consistent brand message to all stakeholders.
  • Supports teams with valuable, targeted programs to drive business.
  • This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in the Southern Africa region.
