  • Competitive Analysis: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge in the solar industry.
  • Pipeline Management: Regularly review and update a minimum pipeline of $150 million, ensuring consistent progress across each deal.
Team Leadership and Management
  • Team Development: Lead and inspire a high-performing business development sales team, dedicating time to mentorship and guidance, while fostering a collaborative culture that promotes teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Performance Monitoring: Set clear sales objectives and KPIs, regularly monitoring performance and providing constructive feedback to drive results.
Business Development and Client Engagement
  • Client Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through tailored solutions and excellent service.
  • Tailored Solutions: Identify customer needs and propose customized renewable energy solutions that meet their expectations.
Market Intelligence and Reporting
  • Market Insights: Continuously gather market intelligence on conditions, trends, and the competitive landscape, providing valuable insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Strategic Reporting: Provide detailed reports and analysis to senior management, helping to drive business growth and strategic planning.
Requirements
  • Essential: A strong background in business development, with at least 8-10 years of experience in high-value sales, contract negotiations, and project management in South Africa, preferably in the solar industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM software, and sales-related tools is also required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the solar industry and a strong network within the South African Commercial and Industrial segments.
