West Coast Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Debtors Clerk to join our team in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the billing and debt collection process within our Finance department. The successful candidate will ensure excellent customer service levels are maintained while accurately reconciling cash sale accounts and resolving outstanding queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Sales department and clients to resolve outstanding queries and ensure timely payment.
- Reconcile debtors accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Collect outstanding payments owed by debtors and flag exceptions for the Financial Controller.
- Prepare and send invoices, credit notes, and proof of delivery documents to clients.
- Resolve potential problems with customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Perform general administration tasks related to debtor accounts, including updating account details and filing invoices and credit notes.
- Assist the Financial Controller and Office Manager with ad-hoc tasks, such as audits and stock takes.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Experience in customer service and debtors & credit control (5+ years).
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practice, and collection regulations.
- Effective time management and proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Word.
Working Environment:
The successful candidate will be based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
What We Offer:
West Coast Personnel offers a competitive salary of R10 000 to R12 000 per month, depending on experience.
