**Company Overview**

CME Recruitment is an award-winning tour operator seeking a seasoned Travel Expert to join our team in Cape Town.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Africa and the Indian Ocean, with a passion for crafting bespoke luxury trips for discerning clients.

**Salary:** We offer a market-related salary ranging from R500,000 to R700,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus attractive benefits.

**Job Description**

As a Travel Expert, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, tailor-made itineraries for a diverse range of traveler segments. Your end-to-end sales process will include planning, costing, refining, and confirming itineraries, as well as post-travel communications.

You will also be expected to:

  • Curate exceptional travel experiences that exceed client expectations;
  • Convert warm sales leads via email, telephone, and video calls;
  • Presentation of travel itineraries customized to clients' unique requirements, along with relevant supporting information and advice;
  • Deliver gold-standard client service at all stages of the sales process to foster repeat and referral business;
  • Proactively expand product knowledge, staying abreast of industry developments to ensure expertise across our specialist product portfolio;
  • Maintain up-to-date commercial knowledge of properties, flight routings, and logistics;
  • Foster strong working relationships with colleagues and trade partners, exhibiting a solid team ethic.

**Desired Skills & Qualifications**

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience as a Travel Consultant in a tailor-made travel environment, working with complex Southern Africa and East African itineraries;
  • First-hand knowledge of our core destinations within sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Demonstrable sales performance in a target-driven environment;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Outstanding customer service skills and attention-to-detail;
  • Advanced levels of IT literacy;
  • Highly-organised with strong time management skills;
  • Results-orientated;
  • Knowledge of the Indian Ocean and Indian Subcontinent;
  • GDS/flight operating systems.
