What You Will Do

  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Technology to manage and oversee the technical operations of the business.
  • Ensure data integrity, performance, and security by managing and maintaining company databases.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of database structures, queries, and stored procedures.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Write Python scripts to automate tasks and improve system operations.
  • Leverage APIs to increase the speed, reliability, and efficiency of software delivery pipelines.
  • Manage and maintain Google Workspace accounts, ensuring user provisioning, security settings, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage and maintain code repositories, ensuring version control and collaborative development.
  • Support the administration and configuration of the Qlik SaaS platform.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of company websites and domain configurations, ensuring uptime, security, and performance.
  • Provide high-level technical support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar position (5 years preferred).
  • Proficiency in SQL and other relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of scripting languages like Python or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with relevant APIs and version control systems like Git.
  • An ability to learn new programming languages and technologies.
  • Attention to detail, systematic approach, and timely execution.
  • Openness to seeking support and dependability in challenging situations.

Salary Estimate: R1,200,000 - R1,800,000 per annum (depending on experience), based on market rates in Cape Town.
