Job Title: Divisional Manager - Hygiene and Pest Control

At HR Genie, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Divisional Manager to lead our Hygiene and Pest Control team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve divisional goals in hygiene and pest control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve divisional goals in hygiene and pest control.
  • Implement hygiene policies and procedures, staying up-to-date with market changes.
  • Hold regular performance appraisals with staff, identifying areas for development and training needs.
  • Ensure the company's training objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure subordinates hold regular training sessions with staff, with identified training taking place.
  • Stay aware of current industry trends, suggesting ways to implement them within unit parameters.
  • Maintain high morale and motivation through effective communication skills.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences as required.
  • Support divisional initiatives and objectives, as set out by the Division or support functions like Quality, Procurement, Training, or HR Finance.
Unit Profitability:
  • Ensure each contract operates within agreed hygiene budgetary standards, including managing labor, equipment, and hygiene consumable purchases.
  • Implement and adhere to procurement procedures according to company policy.
  • Prepare and submit achievable forecasts and budgets for the period.
  • Analyze monthly financial results, highlighting problem areas and taking corrective action.
Service Delivery:
  • Maintain good client relationships, ensuring retention and expansion.
  • Ensure units are appropriately serviced with qualified staff, following recruitment and selection processes.
  • Deliver consistently high service standards.
  • Ensure high standards of additional services, such as deep cleaning and hygiene services.
  • Stay close to customers, communicating effectively to ensure awareness of their needs and problems.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, ensuring periodic minute meetings take place.
  • Ensure staff are aware of satisfying customer needs.
  • Adhere to company statutory hygiene practices and methodology requirements.
  • Ensure deadlines for submitting unit information are met, as set by the hub or accountant.
Financial Management:
  • Ensure administrative procedures are followed by conducting systematic, regular checks on cash, stock control, bookkeeping control systems, financial records, security procedures, and monthly returns.
  • Ensure debtors collection is in line with contractual agreements (30 days).
Discipline, Administration Procedures:
  • Ensure all subordinate personnel files are up-to-date and contain required items according to company statutory procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure staff are correctly dressed, displaying name badges, and maintaining a good company image.
  • Ensure high standards of personal hygiene are maintained.
  • Ensure attendance registers are completed daily, in accordance with statutory legislation.
  • Ensure all OHS Act and other statutory requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure staff are informed of evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure all statutory company legislation is prominently displayed.
  • Carry out disciplinary action in line with the Internal Disciplinary Code when necessary.
  • Attend union meetings and CCMA cases when required.
  • Ensure our THS brand is protected and operated according to agreed standards.
  • Manage Capital Expenditure by maintaining capital asset registers at head office.
  • Ensure contractual agreements are signed by clients and THS before mobilizing new units, unless otherwise agreed by management.
  • Ensure contractual agreements are updated with up-selling into units.
  • Ensure all hygiene equipment is recovered and returned to the main store upon unit closures.
