Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified and experienced English Language and Literacy Specialist to join our team of educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behavior, and academic growth for all scholars.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver face-to-face and distance lessons for English language and literacy
- Collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous, engaging learning experiences
- Participate in all scheduled professional development sessions
- Develop and administer formative and termly assessments to track student progress
- Lead scholar social and emotional development through CQ sessions and reflections
- Plan and deliver programs to support low-performing scholars or extend high-performing scholars
- Participate in place-based education and career and tertiary pathways education
- Develop SPARK culture and implement behavior management strategies
- Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders
- English language fluency
- Completed B.Ed or PGCE degree in English FET or English Home Language FET
- 2-3 years' high school teaching experience (1-2 years' experience teaching Grd 11-12 preferred)
- SACE registration
- Clear/Clean criminal record
