Clover S.A. Proprietary Limited is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Strategic Key Account Professional to join their team in Gauteng.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving business growth through acquiring new accounts and maintaining relationships with current accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage account development while building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Analyze and develop customer plans for key accounts
  • Understand category performance and drive category growth within key accounts
  • Ensure strategies are implemented with regionals to support overall sales strategy
  • Create and maintain five-year account development plans
  • Schedule company visits for national accounts and visit regional key account managers
  • Ensure due dates for contact with trade plans are adhered to
  • Compile annual customer entertainment schedules with activities per month
  • Manage customer trading terms and promotional budgets according to Clover policy
  • Manage trading term budgets for Clover's financial year and customer calendar year (Co-ops and Rebates) for national accounts
  • Draft and manage the implementation of Co-op and Promotional grids for the calendar year in accordance with the Marketing Promotional grid for national and regional accounts
  • Ensure customer marketing and promotional plans are executed nationally and regionally
  • Maintain overall profitability of key accounts within trading term and promotional budget guidelines
  • Manage Co-op budgets
  • Conduct business reviews for national accounts
  • Manage profitability by customer by product category (Gap analysis - Actual vs Budget)
  • Analyze daily sales and take corresponding actions
  • Consult with multi-disciplinary meetings and advise on specific action plans
  • Manage pricing policies (Prices to Trade, RSPs, and Margin)
  • Maintain overall profitability of key accounts on a continuous basis
  • Coordinate price increases, new product listings, and ranging
  • Implement national price increases
  • Coordinate regional price increases
  • Determine and implement strategic pricing (Price List)
  • Implement product listings
  • Determine ideal ranges per region
  • Liaise with Marketing to determine new product strategies for incorporation into ranging
  • Conduct volume and realization budgets for customers for the financial year
  • Report on budgeted volumes and realizations monthly, taking required corrective actions
  • Manage staff
  • Train and develop staff
  • Oversee Merchandiser output for respective national accounts and drive discipline via Sales Execution channels
Requirements
  • Degree
  • Relevant experience in applying job-related concepts, techniques, and processes at the required level
  • Experience working with senior management
  • Business English: Fluent
  • Computer literacy (Intermediate)
  • Code 08 Driver's license
  • Travel off-site/overnight stay
