Senior Program Manager, Operations for Marketplace Fulfillment

Role Summary: The Amazon South Africa Marketplace Team is seeking a skilled Senior Program Manager to spearhead operational enhancements within our Merchant Fulfillment Network (MFN) and to shape the overarching product and program strategy for MFN in South Africa.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define clear objectives, metrics, and methodologies to monitor and enhance program performance and outcomes.
  • Design, implement, and automate both new and existing processes in a standardized and scalable manner, utilizing global resources to address local requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strategize and execute external fulfillment solutions.
  • Regularly present operational metrics to the leadership team.
  • Identify and resolve gaps between actual performance and established goals.
  • Engage with key business partners, including Transportation, Product, and Worldwide Fulfillment teams.
  • Analyze operational data to pinpoint areas for improvement and develop actionable solutions.
  • Formulate the MFN strategy, encompassing Easy Ship and Self Ship initiatives.
  • Establish regular reporting processes and convene meetings with relevant stakeholders and leadership to assess performance and strategize future actions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, or relevant project management.
  • Familiarity with startup operations.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Expertise in defining and executing process improvement initiatives using data-driven insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with various levels within the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Exceptional data analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret and derive insights from complex data sets.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL.
