About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Traka Africa and contribute to the growth of our business in the mining sector.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of sales success and a strong understanding of the mining environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell our full range of ASSA ABLOY - Traka Africa Key and Asset Management Solutions and related solutions from Critical Infrastructure to the Mining sector.
  • Build market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships.
  • Research organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Create, develop, and close new business opportunities.
  • Ensure that your sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Work with the marketing and leadership team to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies.
  • Build a portfolio of clients, both existing and new.
  • Maintain accurate customer and proposal records.
  • Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations and demonstrations showing the capabilities of the product range.
  • Contract negotiation and management of customer expectations.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure that return business is generated.
  • Provide the most appropriate solution to satisfy your client's requirements.
  • Closely follow up on leads to ensure they are converted into new business.
  • Develop quotes and proposals for clients.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and activity information to the Traka Africa General Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Achieve budgeted product revenue and margin – monthly/quarterly & yearly.
  • Present sales pipeline and target reports to business stakeholders.
  • Become and remain fully skilled in all existing and new technologies offered by the ASSA ABLOY group.

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • National Certificate; Electrical Engineering N4 – N6, IT, or business.
  • Training in various electronic solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the Mining environment.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Good team player who understands the importance of meeting deadlines.
  • Thrives in a busy, challenging environment.
  • Ability to understand broader business issues.
  • Highly organized.
  • 5 years' solid industry experience with a proven record of accomplishment in selling projects and solutions in South Africa.
  • Commercially aware with an excellent understanding of industry trends and customer demands.
  • Strong technical knowledge in a solutions environment is required.
  • Ability to develop technical specifications for new projects.
  • Experience in development of Key management and Asset Management solutions and services sales.
