Job Title: Chief Financial Officer-Five

Job Summary

The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial management of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, managing financial resources, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Management: Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to ensure the organization's financial goals are met.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present financial reports to the management team and the board of directors, providing analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the organization's financial stability and security.
  • Financial Governance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and policies, and implement internal controls to prevent financial mismanagement.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of financial professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including the board of directors, management team, and external auditors, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: B Com Honours or equivalent, and Qualified Chartered Accountant registered with the South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
  • Experience: 10 years' experience in Financial Management role and at least 5 years in a strategic financial management role, preferably in the public sector.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of finance as a discipline, including SCM, budgeting, payroll, asset management, and financial management within a Government entity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Behavioral Attributes: Strategic Capability and Leadership, Decisiveness, Planning and organizing, Attention to detail, Drive and initiative, Ability to learn and share knowledge, Ability to work independently, Negotiation skills, Networking skills, Sound judgement, Assertive, Ethical and trustworthy.
