Yabonga Childrens Project is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Auxiliary Worker to join our team in Mfuleni, Cape Town.
About YabongaYabonga is a Cape Town-based non-governmental organisation supporting people living with HIV in South Africa. We operate in twelve township communities around the city, providing holistic support to vulnerable children and youth.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Social Auxiliary Worker to provide community-based support to children and families in the Mfuleni area. The successful candidate will have a passion for community and child development, excellent communication and administrative skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide counseling and support to children and adults within the Yabonga programme
- Conduct home and child assessments of Yabonga beneficiaries
- Identify challenges and resolve conflicts in a sensitive and professional manner
- Collect and summarise OVC reports for the Programme Manager
- Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and partners
- Work collaboratively with the Yabonga team to achieve programme goals and objectives
- Qualification in Social Work or a related field
- Experience working with vulnerable children and families
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in IsiXhosa and English
