Job Title: Group Purchasing Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Purchasing Manager to join our team at Deka Minas Pty Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically sourcing and managing procurement to optimize costs, ensure quality, and support the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with supplier onboarding process and due diligence of supplier and service provider screening.
  • Manage procure-to-pay processes, including spend management software, PO cycles, invoice administration, and sourcing of goods and services.
  • Partner with the finance team to provide monthly reports on open purchase orders and assist with the close process to recognize accruals and prepayments.
  • Drive cash reserve initiatives by negotiating 30-day payment terms for SLA suppliers.
  • Assess the financial viability of potential suppliers using various financial metrics.
  • Prepare B-BBEE data for preferential procurement elements and top spend supplier reports to drive cost savings opportunities.
  • Manage, track, and report on RFI, RFQ, and RFP group processes.
  • Streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal procedures and policies relating to procurement and adhere to regulatory and legal practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field.
  • CIPS certified – Level 5/6 in Procurement.
  • Experience in a similar role within a procurement and purchasing department, ideally in a FinTech or Financial industry sector.
  • Experience with Procure to pay Software, preferably Fraxion.
  • Accounts payable administration experience.
  • Proven experience in procurement in African countries.
  • Proven contract negotiation experience.
  • Risk mitigation processes and tracking.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cost management, sustainability procurement practices, and B-BBEE.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and supplier onboarding due diligence processes.
  • Ability to manage full Request for Proposal processes and scorecard scoring, tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience and understanding of compliance policies, practices, and regulations in Africa.
