Procurement Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at RPO Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of equipment purchases for our solar PV systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the wider team's core procurement and purchasing activities, including supplier and subcontractor vetting procedures.
  • Keep pricelists updated for the Engineering Department to use for detailed project costing.
  • Drive and develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in conjunction with the Engineering Department.
  • Handover project procurement lists (BOQ) to the Project Management Department.
  • Project budget review and signatory on behalf of the Engineering Department.
  • Drive and monitor credit applications with suppliers.
  • Liaise with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
  • Monitor business trends and product availability to secure the best prices for company goods and services.
  • Nurture relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for the company.
  • Identify and research potential new suppliers.
  • Research new products and services to meet the company's goals.
  • Assess total costs of company purchases.
  • Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing products and monitoring stock levels.
  • Ensure all duties listed above are implemented across all Company Branches in Africa.
  • Adhere to company ISO 9001 & 45001 Compliances.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good business instincts and negotiation skills.
  • Financial analysis skills and logistics skills.
  • Strategic planning abilities and specialized industry knowledge.
  • A minimum tertiary qualification of B.Com.
