Key Responsibilities

  • Handle safari requests from clients, including repeat and recommended guests, via various channels
  • Design and compile attractive, tailor-made itineraries to match client expectations and budgets
  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of requests, with attention to detail at all stages
  • Collaborate with the Sales Ops consultant to deliver exceptional sales and customer service
  • Work closely with the Guest Services team to provide best-in-class guest service
  • Meet and exceed personal and team KPIs to drive company growth
  • Report any errors or issues to your line manager promptly
  • Provide proactive support to colleagues during peak periods or leave times
  • Contribute to the improvement of systems, including reservation systems and guest itineraries
  • Attend training sessions and proactively grow your knowledge of the company and its products

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in East Africa safari
  • At least 10 years of experience in a retail sales role for an African inbound operator
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills, with the ability to close sales and upsell
  • Strong administration and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Proactive mindset and can-do attitude
  • Experience in handling difficult situations, including complaints and last-minute requests
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

  • Work in the Cape Town office, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility
  • Be available after hours and on weekends, on a rotational basis
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods, with compensation in lieu
  • Work alternative South African public holidays, with compensation in lieu
  • Take responsibility for the 24/7 emergency phone, on a rotational basis
  • Occasional travel for work may be required
