Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer to join our client's team, overseeing operations in both South African and European markets. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company through effective leadership and management of operational and financial activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Leadership: Oversee and lead the operations to ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions in line with business needs.
  2. Strategic Planning: Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth, and develop and implement operational strategies to achieve them.
  3. Departmental Management: Head up the manufacturing, supply chain, technical, health and safety, projects, planning, and procurement departments, ensuring effective collaboration and communication among teams.
  4. Financial Management: Plan and coordinate operations to ensure the financial success of the company, monitoring and driving production to achieve deadlines and continuously improve.
  5. Relationship Building: Foster relationships with senior leadership, team members, distributors, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: Suitably qualified in Business Administration, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar, senior role.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in large-scale operations, ideally within manufacturing, steel manufacturing, or shopfitting.
  3. Skills: Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities, business acumen, and the ability to make decisive, on-the-spot decisions.
  4. Travel: Willingness to travel to Europe and China between times a year, depending on operational requirements.
  5. Education: Proficient in MS Office and a working knowledge of ERP, CAD, and Manufacturing systems.
