Position Overview:

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in delivering technical support and ongoing upkeep for the organization's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that rental properties are maintained to align with market standards, adhering to the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of properties and bulk infrastructure to assess maintenance needs.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for maintenance activities related to properties and bulk infrastructure.
  • Execute maintenance tasks for properties and bulk infrastructure as required.
  • Oversee contracted service providers performing maintenance tasks and authorize completion reports.
  • Verify that delivered goods and services correspond with issued purchase orders and sign off on delivery notes.
  • Address urgent maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Assist regional offices with maintenance responsibilities as needed.
  • Authorize and approve received goods and services within the scope of delegated authority.
  • Provide relevant maintenance information for inclusion in planning and budgeting processes.
  • Utilize the organization's IT systems to initiate procurement requests for maintenance-related goods and services.
  • Review service provider invoices to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Document key decisions and instructions regarding property maintenance in writing for clarity with supervisors and service providers.
  • Inform tenants about the organization's property maintenance services.
Qualifications:
  • NQF Level 6 with less than 1 year of experience (plumbing and electrical); OR
  • NQF Level 5 with 1-2 years of relevant experience OR a Certified Skill/Trade.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
