Job Title: Executive Director

Action Appointments is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director to lead our organization in Africa.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight to our key functions, ensuring the organization's sustainability and impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to our programmatic, financial, and operations teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve our goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, donors, and local communities.
  • Manage and oversee our budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead and manage a diverse and geographically dispersed team, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in law or a relevant social science discipline.
  • Expertise in environmental law and human rights law, with a focus on Africa.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience, with a proven track record of leadership and success.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and fundraising.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English required, with French an advantage.
